
About Me
Dr. Martinez Sosa obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Biomedical Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla, graduating summa cum laude. She earned her medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University School of Medicine and is a member of the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her Psychiatry residency training at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital where she then completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry. She is board certified in adult psychiatry and forensic psychiatry and is a member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.
Dr. Martinez Sosa serves as Staff Psychiatrist and Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Site Director at the Miami VA Healthcare System. She is an Affiliated Assistant Professor for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. As a general psychiatrist, she treats numerous psychiatric disorders including substance use disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and women's mental health across reproductive and midlife transitions.
